Sweet 16.3C marks the start of August 2

Surprisingly the water temperature today was 16.3C which was certainly a welcome change to Friday’s temp of 14.8C. Revelling in the conditions today were Bevan, Phil, Judy, Linda, Jim, Judith, Dave, Meg (who also provided the oranges), and Bunny.

Despite plenty of flotsam and jetsam bobbing on the surface, the water clarity has improved since last week. Judy, Bevan, Linda and Dave headed out to the post, then around “Gwen” (which has made a welcome return with a clean bottom), across to the island, and back via the dirty cone to the beach. The air temperature was also pleasantly warm for a change. With warm weather forecast for the next few days, it would be great to see more idiots at the beach 🙂

About Dave

Dave has been an idiot for longer than he can remember. However, his Real Idiot status was confirmed about 20 years ago when Linda and Bevan coaxed him out to the post. Developer and administrator of this website as well as reporter, photographer, and chief spell-checker. Thankfully, other idiots contribute to the site to keep it interesting...

I did get to Balmoral today – at about 9.30am & I jogged up & down the stretch gazing out to sea….the water was inviting but not inviting enough!
Rumoured reports have Sutho sneaking in for a dip at 7.30am….

ABC 702 this morning (6.30’ish) had discussions about swimming at the moment – various people from Bondi, Shire & Balnmoral called in…..any one know a ‘Tony Arena’ who reported the Balmoral water temp & conditions?

On other matters – the idiot shiraz gets a mention in the paper a week or so ago. Looking forward to the warmer months….

    YALUMBA EARNS ROYAL APPROVAL

Yalumba has won the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW President’s Medal as best agricultural producer for 2011. Yalumba’s FSW8B Botrytis Viognier 2009, made from Wrattonbully grapes, beat milk, butter, olive oil, lamb producers and another winery for the title. Philip Shaw of Orange’s The Idiot Shiraz ’09 was in contention. It’s the second time in the President’s Medal’s six-year history a winemaker has won. Paringa Estate won two years ago.
