Arriving at the beach this morning having crawled out of bed only minutes before, I was greeted by an icy blast of air as I stepped from the car. Tony dashed past in his speedos. No wonder the chat was brief 🙂 Linda emerged from the water and gave the thumbs up re: water temp.
Despite the Arctic winds, the idiots were well represented today. The inshore idiots comprised of the aforementioned Tony and Linda, Robyn (sporting a long-sleeved, long-legged stretchy material costume), Rod, Mike, Tim, Judith, Peter, Catherine, Claire, Di E., Di, Robert, Janet, Meg, Sally, Bunny, Josie & Bruce, Margo, Janice, Pam, Phil, Fran, and Bob.
The Idiots assembled for the swim to the cat far, far away, were Bevan, Judy, Chris, Dave U. and Dave.
Bevan and Dave U. set a blistering pace in pursuit of Judy which Chris easily maintained with the help of his turbo propellers. Dave S. set his own pace (slow) and arrived at the cat a short time later. The sea lice loved Dave and there were some jelly-like lumps and strands evident on the trip out.
Across to the island next for Bevan, Chris and Dave, whilst Judy and Dave U. headed for home. Chit-chat was brief at all the rest stops with that icy wind blowing across the water. Dirty cone to finish, then back to the beach, jog to the car, add several layers, and coffee beckons. Bliss!
After hosting a 21st at our place on Sunday, I couldn’t quite make the 6.30am start but did manage to get down there for a glorious 8 am swim!
Photos to follow (if I can work out how to upload them!)
Well done Rob and nice selfie! Looks decidedly warmer at that time of the day.
Great shots Dave – and 100% agree with the headline. Winter IS coming. Roll on Spring!!
Thanks Chris – still trying to warm up…
Fwellow swimming idiots. Remember me ?
I have just returned from a 3 week trip around NSW where the closest I got to water were the mineral spas at Moree. Other places visited include Orange, Mudgee, Cobar, Lightning Ridge, Walgett, Nyngan, Gulargombone, Broken Hill, Mildura , Naranderra, Boroowa and Nowra. Anyway am back now and you never know, I might just make a return surprise visit to Balmoral !
Sounds like a lot of stops Matt. We look forward to seeing you at the beach. 🙂
It was a lot of stops because there a lot of kids to see. Little Jimmy and little Jimmy 2 and little Jimmy 3 and little Jimmy 4. They are all from an early Rugby tour that Matt did through the outback. When he first came back from the trip I saw him looking very upset with a sheet of corrugated iron under one arm and a 6 pack under the other. I asked if he was ok and Matt said he had to divorce his wife from the outback however, it was OK as he got half the house and half the belongings !
Sutho,
same as always….you and vince sorrenti should both work on a new repertoire…..
BTW are you joining the “Hummingbirds” tonight ?
Always appreciated Vince’s work along with Rodney Rude !
And what the hell are the Hummingbirds ? I’m off to see Taylor Steele’s new film Proximity.
The Hummingbirds are NOT related to the Bumblebees ! It is a singing choir….I believe that Chris Meredith is also joining so with Judy , Chris and myself we will be able to sing to you at the cone………….
Matt – I’ll be humming tonight! Kick off at 7.15pm at 18 Melrose st (church hall near the Mosman Practice). cya then!
Looking forward to it
You have all lost the plot !!!
