Carrying on the tradition from last week, Sutho arrived at the beach…. LATE… again…
Not ones for idle chit chat when the clock strikes 6.30am, idiots Bevan, Stephen, Richard, and Dave hit the choppy water and headed to the post. Dave finds it remarkable that he lags so far behind Speedy Gonzaleses (plural) – Richard, Bevan, and Stephen. Not phased by this turn of events and only running on 3 hours sleep, Dave maintained a steady pace and made it eventually, albeit, 25 meters behind.
A white-capped splashing idiot aka Sutho was observed making his way out to the post. As Richard had taxi duties this morning, Dave and Richard set off around Gwen and across to the island, whilst two of the Speedy Gonzaleses remained behind for Sutho.
This move worked out perfectly as everyone arrived at the island within seconds of each other. With no rest for the wicked, the idiots headed to the Almora St cone and back to the beach. Dave and his foggy goggles almost missed the turn for the beach but fortunately noticed Sutho at the last minute.
The idiots made it back in time to catch the stunning sunrise.
The distance swum today was… (I hope you are sitting down when you read this Richard, but don’t forget this is ‘as the crow flies’)… 955 meters… gulp….

There is a haunting quality to the light in today’s images. Taken with a measly 3MP iPhone camera, the colours still come up surprisingly well.
