Party of five set out at first light 2

Stephen, Richard, Sutho, Bevan and Dave headed to the post this morning in temperate conditions. Dave gave himself a 50 metre head start of the boys to make it competitive. The only obstacle faced on the way out was a fishing charter boat “Avalon” that looked as though it was heading straight at Dave but turned to port. In reality, it wasn’t that close to cause concern. Stephen remarked how clear the water was at the post and was surprised he could see the bottom.

Heading back to the far cone, we had to stop and wait in a group for “Avalon” to head past us…
On the way to the island, Dave did an exit stage left at the Almora Street cone. He would like to formally apologise to the safety officer, but he wanted to capture some shots of the sunrise, which turned out to be a fizzer.

Sutho, Stephen, and Bevan practised their synchronised swimming, posed for some shots for Dave, then sung a rousing rendition of HAPPY BIRTHDAY to young KEN.

Distance covered today was about 1085 metres for the boys who went to the island.

About Dave

Dave has been an idiot for longer than he can remember. However, his Real Idiot status was confirmed about 20 years ago when Linda and Bevan coaxed him out to the post. Developer and administrator of this website as well as reporter, photographer, and chief spell-checker. Thankfully, other idiots contribute to the site to keep it interesting...

…all I can say is thank gawd it’s Friday ! Bloody brilliant week of swimming… warm water, millpond conditions, spectacular sunrises…..all is good!
If we can get to 77 and be like Uncle Ken…even better.
I suggest we chip in for a hooker for him……!
