Another warm start to the day with even the flies feeling lethargic after yesterday’s scorcher. Heading to the post this morning were Bevan, Dave, Chris, Linda, and David. Sutho was returning as the pack set out. A few strokes into the swim Dave spied an humongous flathead resting quietly on the sea floor. Calling Sutho over, they concurred that it was indeed a flathead measuring about 4 feet long. Shortly after Dave reached the post, Bevan asked if he was up for a barrel. Not likely fellas! Linda and Dave headed to the island, ran into what felt like a gazillion jellyfish, altered course and headed for home, meanwhile the other idiots – Bevan, Chris, and David headed for the barrel…. cue music….
Huge Sutho! I missed the 5.55am and 6.15am meetings this morning choosing instead to enjoy a ride to the city in an air-conditioned Merc. Shaping up to be a scorcher today. Don’t forget to slip, slap, slop Richard for your 9am meeting 🙂
Chaps..gee I wish I was at the 9.00am meeting but the 5.55am solo group is mine to keep !And Dave…how big was that that shark we saw both days !!
The last 3 morning’s have been superb….as part of the 9am swimming idiots group (1 member) – I can tell you that there are very few people at that time and the 20.60 degree water temp is just right (when did Ken start measuring to 2 decimal places?).
Can’t say I’m sorry I missed the Barrel swim but obviously the company is far better at 6.15am!
Pure luxury for some! and what a perfect week you’ve had in the heat department! I’m thinking 5.50am is more realistic for us poor guys who work in the city…
