Christmas Eve course

Logging in to the site has been problematic over the past few days as has connecting via wi-fi at my current digs. I have finally sorted out the latter so that I can concentrate on the former. Hopefully the former will be sorted soon… 🙂

The Christmas eve course proved to be a beauty with Stephen, Matt, Bevan, Dave U, Dave, and new idiot Rob setting out today. We walked around the island and swam out to the end cone passing it on the starboard tack. The difficulty then was finding the post when you are swimming into the sun. There was a bit of a chop to contend with also. Kept swimming and searching, saw Belle and headed that way. Realised that I was giving the post a wide berth, corrected my trajectory and arrived safe and sound.

The water temp was a perfect 21C today. Matt, not one for dilly-dallying had us setting off again quickly, around Belle and down to the far cone. Stephen, Rob, Bevan and Dave U set a blistering pace to the far cone. This time Matt set a wide arc (not by choice), choosing to swim between the yachts and arrived after slow-coach Dave.  A more relaxed pace back to the dirty cone and then most of the idiots back-stroked to the beach. A super high tide made it interesting standing in the shallows.

Great effort everyone 🙂

About Dave

Dave has been an idiot for longer than he can remember. However, his Real Idiot status was confirmed about 20 years ago when Linda and Bevan coaxed him out to the post. Developer and administrator of this website as well as reporter, photographer, and chief spell-checker. Thankfully, other idiots contribute to the site to keep it interesting...
