Chilly return to Balmoral for Chris 5

Chris is now back from hols in a warmer part of the Pacific, so he and Bev braved the slightly chillier 15C water temperature today.  Linda was there to give support but didn’t want to join the swimmers. Apparently yesterday, she had  headed out to the post sans wetsuit (on the coldest Sydney day in some years) and hasn’t warmed up yet!

Chris took things easy by taking the short route back, straight in from post while Bev went the long way round via the end cone and in via the dirty cone.

According to Chris’ GPS calculations (which are audited daily by NASA), distances swum were apx 823.5 m for Chris and 1.153 kms by Bev. (Ok then – something around 1km).

For those that are interested, here are some arty underwater shots called “Underwater Dreaming” created during  Chris’ hols using his kids as models:

I’d have been there to help chip the ice but I’m busy making friends with a man flu thing. Not pretty. Hope to be fit and well by in a few days. Meanwhile, it’s ‘hello Vicks VapoDrops’. Yuk.

You are of course referring to the Schlong borthers and not the Schleck brothers !
SBJ has been in Cancun and RBJ has been in ( can’t think of anything to rhyme with Cancun ) ….somewhere else.

Bonjour and ca va? Loving the TDF and that’s my reason for missing the early swims. I did see Bevan and Linda yesterday and can confirm they were a pleasing colour of sacre Bleu! I did get down there at 7.15 this morning and saw no one except Ken, chipping a hole in the ice to get the temperature. To be fair, out of the water was positively freezing… around 5-6 me thinks! And loved the photos Chris. I think a few idiots could do a few of those moves ( not ! ) underwater for our xmas calendar!

Great effort Sutho! Gosh it was cold today! Screw that swimming caper when the TDF is on. It really is exciting but someone needs to sort out those Schlecks. Speaking of brothers, how are the wonder twins? Are they about?

Hey thanks for posting Chris and hot damn or is that dang?! those photos are amazing! So artsy. I was loving the black and white shots and then came the colour ones that could hang on any wall. Très incredible or sacré bleu (astonishment not cursing) – you can tell I’ve been watching the TDF… right 🙂
