A fresh breeze this morning greeted the idiots assembled for the swim around the island. The band was back together – Judy, Bevan, Dave U., Dave – and the welcome additions of Stephen and Richard. Chris unfortunately had other priorities and missed a stunner.
The water was crystal clear and smooth. Glided to the end of the island, shaved it, then had to find a deeper channel as the rocks rose up to greet me. Stopped to admire a tan and brown striped fish as Richard, Bevan, Dave U., and Stephen raced past. When I finally arrived at the far cone, chat was kept to a minimum as the idiots not wearing protection found the water to be a little on the chilly side.
We headed back around the island, down the coast and back to the steps. A few cold spots encountered along the way. Richard spied a monster flathead in the shallows.

Stephen reported mid morning that his feet were still cold and Bevan & I have been struggling to warm up as well, but we are idiots after all 🙂
Water temp recorded by Ken today was 17.75C!
Please note the shoe-wear to be worn after any swim where the water temp. is below 18 degrees and there’s a very breezy cool westerly blowing….picture of UGG boots, and a couple of woolly slippers.
LOVED the swim this morning….my toes did not !
