Friday, 16 June 2017 – Stephen is a REAL Idiot!
Cementing his claim on his Real Idiot status, Stephen joined Dave S. for a swim this morning around “Miss Ella”, across to Bevan’s Rock, and back to the dirty cone to finish. The water was fairly clear in close and cold! It’s nice to be able to outpace Stephen when you are wearing a fast tri suit 🙂 Great effort Stephen!
Seasoned Idiot numbers were also down with Robert, Rod, Meg, Vic & Rosemary, Luke!, Malcolm and Linda (of course), being the only idiots around.
Saturday, 17 June 2017 – My not so waterproof phone cover!
Alas, all good things must come to an end I suppose. This morning towards the end of my swim, I spied a stingaree close to shore. So I thought, “Great, I’m going to capture some footage of that guy.” I raced up to grab my phone and took some snaps of a few waves first. I notice a bit of ghosting on the images and should have twigged something wasn’t right then… I swam out a bit and shot some still and slo-mo images of the stingaree then returned to shore. After drying off, I was studying my phone and shock/horror noticed some water on the inside! Yanking off the cover, I noticed water was on the face and back of the phone. Miraculously the phone is still working!
Sunday, 18 June 2017 – Visibility zero further out
A super low tide this morning. Idiots spotted enjoying the cooler 17C degrees water on the after 8am shift were Rod, Claire, Di E, and Sutho. I swam without protection and it took me about 150m to warm up sufficiently to enjoy it. I swam out to the cones where I noticed the water taking on a dark olive hue and visibility reduced to zero. Still the sun was shining so that made up for it.
