So Friday already and the swim around the island was eventful for the number of cuts and scrapes incurred by two idiots.
Dave S. acted as bait this morning heading off at an easy pace. Nearing the end of the island I noticed that the tip was quite close. Saw a flash of something when I took a breath. Stopped and peered left and realised that it was a big rock – ok, I must be in close! Chose a deeper channel and noticed Bevan on the inside track. I made it through unscathed, however Bevan was not so lucky.
Swimming this morning was Matt, Richard (who departs our sunny shore for a holiday), Dave F., Chris, Bevan, and Dave S. A good turnout for Friday. There was a bit of traffic around this morning near the island and also heading down to the far cone at Edwards Beach. No collisions were reported.
Feeling exhausted which is my normal form of late, I headed to the island and exited stage right. Bruce was at the beach heading in for a quick dip. I walked around to the good side and met up with the idiots as they were doing a dugong on the final leg.
Chris showed me a nasty cut to his finger that he received swimming between the rocks. Every time the idiots swim through those rocks halfway along the island someone ends up cut. The things we do… 🙂
Great swim and a perfect end to the week.
Also spotted at the beach this morning were Malcolm, Chris, Robyn, Ruth, Mike, Mondo, Louise, Ruth, Joe, Linda, Bob, Paul, Anne, Kersten, the other winemaker Chris, Vic.. the brain is working overtime now… Robyn and Claire… and on the later shift were Pam, John, and Phil…phew!
