Rowing Idiot News From Lucerne

Hi from Lucerne in Switzerland!!

There were so many good wishes for Rowena and her rowing exploits at the steps, i hope The Swimming Idiots  Editorial Committee will permit me to let everyone know that Roo won her heat in the Australian Quad on Friday (beating the reigning European champions in the process) and will be competing in the A-finals today.  They’ll be battling against The Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Australia II and Team GB.

If anyone would like to watch a live video feed on-line, head to www.worldrowing.com for the start at 9.48pm Sydney time.

In an unusual twist, there are two Australian quads in the final and Roo is in Australia 1. (Australia II is the lightweight quad, which managed to win a gold in the lightweight division yesterday and then to qualify in the open weight division as well!)

It’ll be a tough race with The Netherlands, Poland and team GB posting faster times than Australia in their heat.

Rowena and the team seem to be in good spirits and we’ve got our fingers toes and legs crossed for them!
