It almost felt like a Spring day with nary a wind and a cool air temp of 8C come 13.4C. Confusing I know… Despite Di’s protestations, the water temp was a glorious 16.5C! Chris returned from far, far away and Judy will be back tomorrow, which means the winter offshore idiots will be back to their full complement… Yaayyy!
Out to the cat we went via a yacht called “Friday Harbour” for those choosing the left channel (Dave and Bevan) and for the more adventurous (Chris and Dave) it was a slalom course through the yachts and pink cones. The water was even warmer at the cat – at least 17C – bliss.
The route back was via a fishing boat (which I couldn’t see until I passed it on the starboard tack) and “Friday Harbour” finishing at the dirty cone.
In celebration of Chris’s return, Bevan was sporting his stylish one-eyed chook/rooster/ostrich? beanie, whilst Chris went with a more subtle number with Amsterdam emblazoned in large white letters.
Of the Seasoned Idiots enjoying the superb swimming conditions, their numbers were depleted – Di, Janice, Deb, Pam, Bunny and Lachlan. Jogging Idiots were represented by Bob and Kerstin. And showing up for roll call but not participating in either activities were Linda and Chris W.
Ok. I believe you! See you all tomorrow… I am fresh off the plane and have suffered terribly from Balmoral withdrawal. I promise not to tell anyone else Chris!!!
Welcome home Louise. We missed you this morning. Were you on the late shift?
Shhh… Don’t tell anyone how clear the water is and also how it’s almost warm – definitely not winter temps. (I’m liking the feel of having a private beach!)
Welcome back Chris.
Another one drinking from the Cool aid !!!
