January Recap and Water Temps

January just flew by. We had plenty of guest scribes to carry the load of recording the stats for the day. Thanks to the following: RBJ, SBJ, Jack BJ, David U., Janice, Robyn, Linda, Mike, Claire, Tong, Gail, Sue, Ali, Chris, Di, and Katie.

The new digital thermometer makes the task of measuring the temperature a quick and effortless endeavour. Stephen at the Raglan St end uses the same type of apparatus, which means the temperature recordings are more consistent. There’s usually 0.1 – 0.4 degrees variance which is to be expected.

Thanks to Ken, we now have a new temperature board that has been received enthusiastically. The refrain of “Where’s Ken?” continues. Ken does make an appearance for a Friday coffee and he assures us that he will be back to taking the temperature soon!

The results for the January water temp comparisons for 2017 | 2018 are:

  • 2018 Average was higher than 2017 – 22.8C vs 22.6C
  • 2018 Maximum was higher than 2017 – 24.6C vs 24C
  • 2018 Minimum was lower than 2017 – 21.1C vs 21.5C
