Wednesday
As Janice proceeded up the steps with her teeth chattering, she affirmed that the water this morning was noticeably cooler. That declaration however did nothing to assuage the other idiots determination to try it out for themselves.
Gayle, Judith, Mike, Robert, Lachlan, Ruth, David S., Josey, and Di E. all ventured in and were glad they did. Ruth confirmed the temperature later with a reading of 14.5C!
Personally, I found the water to be cool but enjoyable. Crystal clear in the shallows and about 90% visibility near the cones. The sunshine and lack of a breeze also made it pleasurable. The sand was not as cold either as earlier in the week.
Young Chris M. has disappeared for three weeks. He’s heading over to Lucerne, Switzerland where Rowena is competing in the 2017 World Rowing Cup III.
Friday
Judy, Dave U. and Dave S. broke tradition and headed around two yachts, one a beautiful wooden one with sleek lines, before heading to the post. The water was fresh for the first 100m before warming up – or the thrashing of arms may have had something to do with it. Across to the island and then a chat/wade back to shore.
Linda put in an appearance having been engaged with a move and battling a nasty bug. A few of the regular idiots were around – Judith, Josey, Robert, Gail, Mike, Ruth, Di, and…
Di gave Judy, Dave, and I a lesson on the planets (Kepler’s Laws of planetary motion, if memory serves me correctly) after I asked if that was Venus and where was the moon?
