First day of Summer 2015 3

If you pop over to Chris’s Facebook page you will find a lovely photo from this morning … However, these photos were taken hurriedly as the gang assembled for the 6.30am sharp start. Already lined up for roll call were Bevan, Judy, Matt, Richard, and Chris. Dave F. was MIA.

The course out was identical to that of the last day of Spring. Out to Belle ( if you could find it swimming directly into the sun) and finish at the post. Judy acquitted herself well, swimming strongly, as did Matt and Richard and Bevan and Chris. With the aid of flippers, I found the course a bit of a hard slog from about the end of the island to Belle (which I had trouble finding). Apparently I was disqualified for not rounding the bow of Belle but everyone knows how much I dislike swimming over there, so…

There was some dissent regarding the return leg. Richard, Judy and Dave headed to the island and across to the no longer dirty cone. Matt, Bevan and Chris headed to the far cone to supposedly swim a slalom course in and out of the cones. To the casual observer it didn’t resemble that at all. Nonetheless both groups achieved their objectives. Superb swimming conditions for the first day of summer. Long may it continue

About Dave

Dave has been an idiot for longer than he can remember. However, his Real Idiot status was confirmed about 20 years ago when Linda and Bevan coaxed him out to the post. Developer and administrator of this website as well as reporter, photographer, and chief spell-checker. Thankfully, other idiots contribute to the site to keep it interesting...

What a morning….as good as it gets! I didn’t hang my towel in the wrong place & get reprimanded, the water temp was great, the swim route (the agreed one from the start) was perfect. What a start to the day!

Dave – I liked the photo but I was obscured by some English bloke who likes photography…..see you all tomorrow.

P.S. This is a very good site Dave – you are talented (even though Matt. McG says he doesn’t have time to read the messages or go to the site!?!?)

Thanks Richard – kind of you to say 🙂 As for Matt, you can lead a horse to water…
And Mr. Meredith has a sixth sense when it comes to smiling for the camera 😉
