Dave takes idiocy to a new level 4

Dave introduced his secret weapon today to stay ahead of the pack or maybe it was to draw sharks away from the main group. His intentions were clearly misunderstood by some seasoned idiots who couldn’t understand why any idiot would wear a wetsuit when the water temp was 22C. It was all about speed, which is what Dave demonstrated on the swim today.

Matt, Stephen, Richard, Bevan, Sutho, Dave, and Linda all set out to the post today. After yesterday’s debacle, Dave was given a head start and had the honour of setting the course. He picked an old fave – The post, Raglan St cone, Almora St cone and back to the beach.

Stephen, who said that he was under the weather and would be swimming slower, arrived at the post alongside Matt and Sutho, followed by Bevan and Richard…

Returning to the beach, everyone agreed that the old course was more enjoyable than swimming across to the island. The distance covered was 875 metres.

Unfortunately, Matt’s east coast adventure is at an end for now but we look forward to reading his contributions (hint, hint) on the swimming idiots blog, and hopefully the east coast swims will now return to a less frenzied pace. 🙂

About Dave

Dave has been an idiot for longer than he can remember. However, his Real Idiot status was confirmed about 20 years ago when Linda and Bevan coaxed him out to the post. Wetsuits and a distance less than 1km….this group is getting soft!

Liked the ‘old’ course but we need an extra 125 metres please….

You would’ve liked a wetsuit today Richard, c’mon admit it…

Regarding the distance, doing the post loop aka the old fave usually takes us back to the island after the Raglan St cone, then back to the Almora Street cone, and the beach, making it a total distance of approx. 1100 metres.

The TV star here….and if that’s my 5 mins. of fame…what a sad life!

Sutho saying I was looking far younger & slimmer than my appearance on the 7.30 report! Now I know why they have hair & make-up and Barbara Streisand refuses camera angles from the left side!

Love the body condom Dave….we got the message…you can lose the suit now….especially as Matt heads back to Cottesloe.

Great to see Linda with us all this morning…& she had already had one swim when I arrived in the dark hours…she was marvelling about the Moon & bright star Venus…(Sutho…come on…there’s an opening here for a comment…)

Anyway….lovely to have Matt back with us….

Here’s an observation…the photo of the Sunrise from the Home page is definitely in the winter…you can see how far into the north it is …behind North head…currently the sun rises behind South head…interesting eh?

    Cheers.

Fascinating observations Stephen and I love the body condom comment, although come winter you too will be sporting one 🙂

I can confirm that the photo was taken on 9th September, 2010 at 6:21am which was actually in Spring, but you weren’t far off 😉

Linda swam well this morning – she was second to the post and not far behind the action at the Raglan Street cone.

I’d like to see an under-strength Matt swimming tomorrow as we may stand a chance.
