Whilst I missed the first day of Summer, I made up for it today with a swim around the island accompanied by Dave, Jasmine, Judy, Stephen, and Chris.
I gave myself a good head-start (places to go, people to see) and made it to the far cone off Deadmans with the other idiots not far behind. Judy is speedy gonzales with her flippers as is Jasmine who flits here there and everywhere at warp speed. Dave took it easy for a change as did Stephen and Chris.
Heading back, we stopped at Bevan’s Rock and reminisced about the time he was sucked into a giant vortex and almost deposited on the oyster shell encrusted rocks. Fortunately the tide was too low to attempt a crossing.
Finished off with a Dugong along the beach in the beautiful 22C degrees water. Thanks Dave for recording the temp. No collisions were recorded which was miraculous considering the numbers of fair weather, jimble-free swimmers.
Also enjoying the superb swimming conditions were super-fit Paul & Anne, Robyn, Rod, Linda, Diana, Catherine (Christmas party planner extraordinaire), Dennis, Diver Dave, Vic and Rosemary (welcome back Rosemary), Di, Claire, Janet, John M, Richard (apparently), Sutho, Pam, Dennis & Lesley, Fran, and Sally & Richard.
Other news just in is that Ruth is out of hospital and recovering well. Bevan was also spotted (at an undisclosed location) looking good, despite his recent complications. We hope to see them both soon.
And in other related news, David (who sometimes refers to himself in the third person) has moved to Mosman, so look forward to seeing him at the beach more often… you have been warned… 😉
And forgetting and then not forgetting Linda’s contribution over the weeks with the countless summaries and recordings of the water temp in the days that I’m MIA… THANKS Linda 🙂
