Against a backdrop of grey skies and choppy water, Dave, Dave, Bev, Judy, Rob, Richard, The Other Richard, Me and special guest Brad made the long swim to Cobblers and back in a very quick 68 minutes.
With a short break at Belle and then the second barrel, the Idiots headed into Cobblers via an anchored catamaran before a short celebratory photoshoot. (The idiots chose to preserve their modesty despite the informal dress code at Cobblers)
The return trip seemed quicker perhaps because we cracked the bulk of the swim by choosing to make the first stop at the first barrel.
Our special guest (Brad) who is not a regular swimmer surprised us all (and possibly himself) by staying up with the pack throughout and failing to attract any sharks. (Nice work Mr Brad!)
Back at La Republica, Stephen very kindly organised a presentation of “Resident Evil – Final Chapter, (the sequel) – the story continues – Part II” t-shirts so we’re now all feeling very proud of ourselves and looking… well.. Residently Evil.
Buoyed by the success of the Cobblers swim, there’s now talk of taking on the massive Palm Beach to Whale Beach swim on 29th Jan. Where will this end???
watch this space…for the next Chapter (part II) – the sequel
Very enjoyable swim – good to have the full crew on board.
I think we all should do a few more ocean swim ‘events’ – certain we’ll have lots of fun, just like the Australian Day event. Palm Beach here we come…thanks for swimming with the extra appendage Chris.
Great swim everyone ?????,and hope everyone else feels as energised as I have today . Did miss our promised guest , Matt Maguire . Well done to Brad on his inaugural swim . Looking forward to the next one
Judy ?
Well done Chris. You cobbled that story together in no time. Great photos too 🙂
And I’d like to thank our sponsors Sony Movies who cobbled together some great kit that made the whole event so worthwhile 🙂
