Well… I really thought I had the hang of this temperature reporting gig. Correct date – check, Water temp for today – check, Air temperature – check, the time that the stats were recorded – check… and then the wheels fell off when I noticed what I had assumed were High and Low Air temperatures for the day were in fact water temperatures over the last year!!! How obscure is that?!
Now I am puzzling over what that temperature banding is supposed to reflect. Does that mean from today minus 12 months? Who would know those stats? I’ll have to consult the oracles for the answers.
A cooler air temp this morning with a chilly breeze blowing. Still a stunning start with hardly any swimmers around except for the real idiots such as Janice, Rod, Deb, Judy, Chris, Bevan, Dave U., and Dave, and back by popular demand, Stephen! Where was Louise I ponder after discovering her comment yesterday…
16.5C was the recorded temperature. A bit cold to start, a bit warmer past the cones, an ice patch where “Beluga” aka “Balmoral Belle” should have been, not bad near “Idyll Island”, cool at the post, another warm patch, then we were back at the steps.
Also down for jogging, walking &/or coffee were Bob, John, and Chris W.
A frozen solid Stephen joined us for coffee after his run and swim out to the cones with Bevan. What an idiot to do that without his swimmers, swim cap or goggles! 😉
And who is the Idiot on the push bike on the sand !!!!
Good point Ian! What a goose!
