How to Capture a Mermaid – Artist’s talk by Chris on Sunday at Rochfort Gallery

You may have heard that I have a set of “Mermaids of Balmoral” images on display at the very posh  Rochfort Gallery in North Sydney at the moment.  They’re part of an exhibition called “Whimsy – Narratives of the Imagination” (and I”m secretly thrilled to have my work in such a stunning venue).

To celebrate, I”m giving an informal talk called “How to Capture a Mermaid” at 11.00am on Sunday 12th August – and everyone’s welcome!

The talk will include a history of the Mermaids of Balmoral and will provide insights into the their habitat and lifestyle.  For sailors, there will also be vital safety tips to help prevent yachts crashing onto the rocks as they pass the sisters on dangerous moon-lit nights.

The gallery is on the Pacific Highway between North Sydney Girls High School and the Police Station. Lots of street parking in the back streets nearby. (I’d head to Eden Lane or East Lane).

The full details are:
