Here’s what Bevan got up to on his last week of “Bevan’s Madcap Wilderness Tour in the Gulf”.
Mon 5/9 Day 15
At Alice Springs. What a beautiful city.. Todd River runs into Lake Eyre – when there is water in the river that is…
Thu 8/9 Day 18
Alice to Jervois Station camp area then a busted up new tyre… we had luck on our side being very close to Tobermorey Station (1.5m acres).
By the time we had repairs completed it made sense to call it a day and we enjoyed setting up tents on Tobermorey’s green grass camping area.
Boulia Parmy. First for the trip….
Tobermorey Station. As per yesterday’s notes, what a great place. Wendy and Woolly certainly looked after us. So good to camp on green grass and have a camp fire. What a great place..
Fri 9/9 Day 19
Enjoyed the Bedourie Rodeo and then teaching the locals to do some shadow painting. They reckon I’m a city idiot… Today a quick run down to Birdsville. It’s flat with a view all the way to the horizon. Out of the blue appears the “shoe tree” in the middle of no where. Then curry camel pie at the Birdsville bakery and off to Big Red.
Sat 10/9 Day 20
How is this??? We share the road with Road Trains, grey nomads with monstrous caravans and locals with Toyota cruises at 100mph and now we share the road with bloody planes…
We shared the road today with lots of roos and emus. They were well behaved.
Tomorrow maybe St.George
Mon 12/9 Day 22
Eulo on the Paroo River.
Strange place. Goat sleeping in the van at the caravan park. Not sure where dad and the kids sleep.
Emus running down the main street. Glad we moved onto St. George for the night.
Thanks Judy 🙂 For some strange reason, I can’t save your comment so I have reproduced it below…
