Commentary

• Off to visit the largest ski resort in the southern hemisphere… 35,000 skiers per hour… massive place.

• Coming out of the mountains and onto the Patagonian plans. Welcome to the joys of powerful winds..
• A side excursion out of Esquel up to the local dam. Great dirt roads. One fellow rider decided to run wide..

28 Jan | Esquel to Perito Morento. 550km.

Commentary

• Some of the huts looked so run down that when I went to take a photo, the residents came out to say hello. Couldn’t take the shot.

 30 Jan | On the way to Esquel

Commentary

• A typical fuel pump and fuel attendant.
• Wild lama on the side of the road. As common as roos out west.
• Stayed at a farm. The farmer doesn’t like Pumas.
• Rained all last night. It was a fun 150km in the gravel and clay roads this morning.
• Coming into El Chalten this evening. Blowing a gale and cold.
